3-302.14 FC: (A) Food shall be protected from contamination that may result from the addition of, as specified in Section 3-202.12: (1) Unsafe or unapproved food or color additives; and (2) Unsafe or unapproved levels of approved food and color additives. (B) A food employee may not: (1) Apply sulfiting agents to fresh fruits and vegetables intended for raw consumption or to a food considered to be a good source of vitamin B1; or (2) Except for grapes, serve or sell food specified under Subparagraph (B)(1) of this section that is treated with sulfiting agents before receipt by the food establishment. 7-204.12 FC: Chemicals, including those generated on-site, used to wash or peel raw, whole fruits and vegetables or used in the treatment, storage, and processing of fruits and vegetables shall: (A) Be an approved food additive listed for this intended use in 21 CFR 173, or (B) Be generally recognized as safe (GRAS) for this intended use, or (C) Be the subject of an effective food contact notification for this intended use (only effective for the manufacturer or supplier identified in the notification), and (D) Meet the requirements in 40 CFR 156 Labeling Requirements for Pesticide and Devices. 42 Cleaning and maintenance equipment
