To order approved program food safety material, call DBPR contracted provider: Florida Restaurant and Lodging Association (SafeStaff) 866-372-7233. I observed a food safety training certificate for Zachary Howe, a new hire, from FLRA SafeStaff dated 5/19/23. Today was his first day of employment, he was not yet handling food at the time of the inspection. The manager checked the corporate training portal, and it appears that current food service employees have not received the required training. The inspector discussed all food service employees must complete state approved food safety training within 60 days of employment.
